|Old design with a new lustre: Nessino designer table lamp from Artemide This table lamp demonstrates how timeless design can be: the Nessino model is the little sister of the Nesso table lamp. Nesso was developed in the 1960s by the designer Giancarlo Mattioli and the Gruppo Architetti Urbanisti Città Nuova The mushroom-like shape and the plastic body are clear indications that the light was created in this decade. Nevertheless, Nessino, the new edition of Nesso, is still a modern and attractive interior design element today. The base and the lampshade of Nessino are both made of injection-moulded polycarbonate. There are four light bulb sockets under the lampshade. The hemispherical lampshade ensures that the light is emitted into the surrounding area indirectly and without glare. The Italian designer Giancarlo Mattioli (1933 - 2018) achieved great fame in the 1950s and 1960s with the table lamp Nesso, which is now exhibited in various large museums, e.g. the MoMA in New York. |Seven-bulb table lamp DNA Table - made in Germany The futuristic-looking body of the table lamp DNA Table evokes many associations. It is reminiscent of a stylised tree or perhaps a flower. However, the idea floating around in the head of the designers Hopf & Wortmann was probably the structural model of a DNA molecule, which is why it is called “DNA”. The individual atoms of the model are represented by globe bulbs (not included); the links between the atoms are made by a plastic structure. This structure can be rotated in two places, allowing you to vary the arrangement of the atoms slightly. The lighting manufacturer next stands for products made in Germany. The small lighting works of art produced by the Cologne-based company are not only lights for the purpose of emitting light; they give light a shape and thus help to design the room. Production takes place exclusively in the company’s own production facilities in Cologne. Energy efficiency class:A++ - BUY NOW at Lights.co.uk*|

| A design classic by Poul Henningsen: the PH 5 Mini hanging light The PH 5 Mini hanging light is a design classic by the Danish lighting manufacturer Louis Poulsen and has been named after its creator, Poul Henningsen. In addition to his role as a designer, Henningsen also worked as an author and journalist – he was truly multi-talented. From 1925 until his death in 1967, he worked as a designer for the traditional Danish company Louis Poulsen. In 1958, he invented the PH 5 and its little sister the PH 5 Mini. This model saw him further develop his celebrated three-lampshade system, which had been launched back in 1926. In order to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the PH 5 Mini, new colour versions of the classic light are now available. The benefits and special features that set this hanging light apart and that have seen it be sold for decades include the hundred-percent glare-free and equally optimum lighting, which is directed both downwards, to the sides and upwards. The special, multi-lampshade system has been designed in line with the Scandinavian design principle: “Form follows function”. Energy efficiency class:A++ |
