Semplice designer table lamp by Sam Hecht This table lamp cannot really be described as “semplice”, which means simple, unremarkable and crude. It may look simple and plain at first glance, but it is certainly not lacking in refinement and notable details. The refinement is owed to the fact that this model does away with the conventions concerning a table lamp. A table lamp does not necessarily need to have a base and an arm, which features a lampshade on its top. It can do without these elements. This is proven by Semplice, a table lamp designed by Sam Hecht in 2013 on behalf of the traditional Italian company Oluce. Semplice gives off the impression that it consists of a copper-coloured metal lampshade, which seems to float a few centimetres above the surface of the table. This effect is owed to the transparent, hand-blown glass, which spans from the copper lampshade to the tabletop. The integrated dimmer is a further refinement. It is not just functional but also enhances the design of the light. The rotary button sits on the front of the light and also comes in copper. As such, it is clearly part of the design of the table lamp. Energy efficiency class:B
